Cops Swarm Scene of Fake Kidnapping Meant as YouTube Prank
WHITEHALL, Pa. -- Authorities say four eastern Pennsylvania teenagers staged a fake kidnapping in a store parking lot, intending to film it and put the video on YouTube.
Police officers swarmed the parking lot of a Kmart store in Whitehall shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday after a woman reported seeing a man get tied up and thrown in the trunk of a car.
Police say they found the car shortly after and got the man out of the trunk.
But they quickly determined that the four teenagers involved were videotaping a prank. They have been charged with disorderly conduct.
