A New York businessman who went on trial four times in the slaying of his wife before being acquitted has now been charged with stalking a state police investigator involved in his case.

State police said Friday that 55-year-old Calvin Harris was arrested Thursday in Oneonta (oh-nee-AHN'-tuh), 75 miles northeast of his home in Spencer.

Troopers say they expect to release more information later Friday.

Harris went to trial four times for the slaying of his wife, Michele, who disappeared the night of the Sept. 11 terror attacks. The last trial ended May 24 with his acquittal of a murder charge. Two previous guilty verdicts against Harris were overturned, and a third trial ended in a mistrial.

A message left with his lawyer in the last trial wasn't immediately returned.
