CINCINNATI – A defense attorney says a Cincinnati man convicted of murder will appeal in the case of a paralyzed, dying shooting victim who identified his assailant by blinking his eyes in a videotaped police interview.

The jury deliberated for three days and on Thursday convicted Ricardo Woods of murder and felonious assault for the 2010 death of David Chandler.

The 35-year-old Woods showed no immediate reaction to the verdict but said he's innocent as he was led to jail. He could face life in prison when he is sentenced June 20.

The 35-year-old Chandler was able to communicate only with his eyes after the shooting until he died about two weeks later.

Chandler's half-brother, Richard Tucker, said in a telephone interview that his family feels justice was served.
