A school janitor in Colorado was arrested for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl, Fox 31 reported.

Travis Bowden, a 24-year-old janitor working in the St. Vrain Valley School District, was found in a parked car with the child at around 11:30 p.m. Friday night, police said.

According to an arrest affidavit, Bowden admitted to having sexual contact with the girl but claimed they never had intercourse.

He said he was friends with the girl and her parents while he was employed by the school district as a part-time janitor.

Students at the school reported what they described as strange behavior from Bowden and the alleged victim.

"He started acting weird like he didn't want anyone around them," Tim Summers, 13, told the station. "They were saying they wanted to cuddle and stuff."

School officials reportedly sent a letter home to parents on Monday, notifying them of Bowden's alleged sexual relationship with the student.

Bowden is currently being held on suspicion of one count of sexual assault on a child. His bond is set at $25,000. He is expected to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on Wednesday, according to the station.
