The head cheerleading coach at Coastal Carolina University in Conway has been arrested on domestic violence and assault charges.

Thirty-one-year-old Elizabeth Hadley Appenzeller of Conway was arrested Sunday and accused of refusing to leave her boyfriend's pickup truck and then with kicking police officers who arrested her.

Appenzeller originally was arrested on charges of resisting arrest and public disorderly conduct. Officers added the charges of assault on a police officer and criminal domestic violence on Monday. It was not clear if she has a lawyer.

A school spokeswoman would only confirm that Appenzeller is an employee.

Conway police were called when a man told them the woman had refused to get out of his truck after he broke off their relationship.
