An Argentinian climber has been found dead at a camp at 17,200 feet on North America's tallest peak.

Denali National Park and Preserve says the body of 39-year-old Heraldo Javier Callupan was discovered Sunday by two climbers arriving at the camp on Alaska's Mount McKinley. Callupan's body was found in the snow with no visible signs of trauma. The park says Callupan appears to have died of "unknown medical issues."

The park says it took several days to identify Callupan because of delays in communication with the climbers who found his body and a lack of park personnel at the high-elevation camp so early in the season.

Callupan's body could be recovered within the week, depending in part on weather conditions, and will be taken to the medical examiner's office.
