Cleveland sports anchor indicted on charges he raped woman at his home after they visited bar

Authorities say a Cleveland television sports anchor has been indicted on charges of raping a woman in his home.

Cuyahoga (ky-uh-HOH'-guh) County prosecutor Bill Mason says 32-year-old WEWS-TV anchor Terry Brooks was indicted Wednesday on one count of kidnapping and four counts each of rape and attempted rape.

Brooks is accused of raping a 21-year-old woman in September at his home in the suburb South Euclid after they went to a sports bar together. The rape claim was reported in January.

Brooks hasn't returned a message seeking comment left on a personal phone. He's to be arraigned Aug. 18.

WEWS is in a major media market and reaches communities throughout northeast Ohio, including Akron and Canton. It says on its website Brooks has been placed on leave as weekend sports anchor.
