Felony drug, conspiracy and gun charges have been filed against an ex-prosecutor who handled the Paris Hilton and Bruno Mars drug cases in Las Vegas.

Former Deputy Clark County District Attorney David Schubert didn't appear in court Thursday while his lawyer received the four-count criminal complaint.

The defense attorney says Schubert will plead not guilty to the charges that could send him to prison for decades if he's convicted.

The 47-year-old prosecutor was arrested March 19 in a BMW after police reported watching him buy $40 worth of rock cocaine in a neighborhood near the Las Vegas Strip. The gun charge stems from an unregistered firearm police found in Schubert's car.

Schubert was a top area drug prosecutor and resigned April 1.
