ORLANDO, Fla. – The murder trial of a central Florida mother accused of killing her daughter enters its seventh day after an emotional day of testimony by her mother opened the second week.
A former friend of 25-year-old Casey Anthony is set to be cross-examined by the defense to open Wednesday's proceedings. Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 2-year-old daughter Caylee. If convicted, she could receive a death sentence. The defense claims Caylee accidently drowned in her grandparents' pool. The prosecution says she suffocated after having duct tape placed over her mouth.
Casey Anthony's mother, Cindy Anthony, broke down in tears Tuesday as she recounted a 911 call she made in July 2008. The call came after her daughter told her Caylee had been missing for 31 days.
