ORLANDO, Fla. -- A member of Casey Anthony's legal team is leaving the case because of a lack of funding for travel and other expenses.
Chicago-based attorney Andrea Lyon said in a statement Thursday that while she is committed to a vigorous defense for the Florida mother charged with murdering her 2-year-old daughter, the costs of traveling to Florida are just too much.
Casey's other attorneys, Jose Baez and Cheney Mason, remain on the case.
Anthony has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and has said a baby sitter kidnapped her daughter, Caylee. The toddler's remains were found in December 2008, about six months after the mother said she last saw her alive. Anthony's trial is scheduled to start next May.
