A new brochure being distributed on Cape Cod warning people about the possibility of sharks has some people wondering if it might do more harm than good.

The brochures were distributed by consortium of harbormasters and local officials. They are meant to raise awareness of sharks and educate the public about safe practices in the event of a sighting, which have become more frequent in recent years.

Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce CEO Wendy Northcross tells the Cape Cod Times (http://bit.ly/1ihWV46 ) she realizes the need for public information on the issue, she just doesn't want it sensationalized.

Richard Delaney, president of the Center for Coastal Studies in Provincetown, says his concern is a cover photo he calls reminiscent of "Jaws" and a line that suggests people shouldn't go in the water.
