Police said one person was shot near an Old Navy clothing store inside the Great Mall in Milpitas, FOX 2 of the Bay Area reported. The medical condition of the wounded person was not immediately known.

After gunfire was heard, responding officers requested that employees and customers shelter in place as the officers assessed the situation, the Milpitas Police Department wrote in a Twitter message.
