Louisiana police say a 12-year-old boy was killed during a police chase when a wounded suspect hit him with his pickup truck.

State Police spokesman Bryan Lee says Samuel Lee was pronounced dead at the scene Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities say 32-year-old Joshual Hilton was shot during a drug investigation and tried to flee.

After hitting the boy, the suspect was arrested, treated for non-life threatening injures and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

Hilton is charged with manslaughter, reckless operation and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Police wouldn't say how Hilton was shot, nor identify the officers involved.

Baton Rouge Police spokesman Sgt. L'Jean McKneely did say that no officers were injured.

Neighbors told the Advocate that the boy was "very good kid."
