Boy, 11, in Critical Condition After Being Crushed by Car

An 11-year-old boy is hospitalized in critical condition after a car fell on him while he helped his older brother with repairs.

Payson Police Lt. Bill Wright says the child was under the vehicle Friday night aiding his 16-year-old brother when it fell off a jack and pinned him to the ground.

Wright says bystanders were able to jack the car back up and free the boy, but he suffered serious head and chest injuries and was unconscious when he was transported to Mountain View Hospital.

He was expected to be transported to a Salt Lake City hospital for further treatment.
