A friend of Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev (joh-HAHR' tsahr-NEYE'-ehv) says police descended on his apartment with guns drawn as they frantically searched for Tsarnaev.

Dias Kadyrbayev (DY'-us kah-dur-BY'-ehvz) is accused of removing items from Tsarnaev's dorm room several days after the bombings. He took the witness stand Monday during a hearing on his request to suppress statements he made to authorities.

Kadyrbayev said police with long rifles and FBI agents surrounded his New Bedford apartment on April 19, 2013. That was during a time when authorities were searching for Tsarnaev after a police shootout in Watertown.

Kadyrbayev said an FBI agent demanded he tell them where Tsarnaev was, but he insisted he didn't know. While in a police cruiser later, he says he heard Tsarnaev had been captured.
