A judge is deciding whether to reduce bond for an Alabama man accused of killing the sex offender convicted of sexually abusing the man's daughter.

Circuit Judge Gregory Nicholas says he'll rule late Thursday whether to reduce the man's $141,000 cash bond.

The Associated Press isn't using the suspect's name to protect his daughter's identity since she is a sexual abuse victim.

The man is charged with murder in the shooting death of Raymond Earl Brooks on June 8. He's also accused of shooting at a stepdaughter's boyfriend moments before.

The defense has argued the man is indigent and can't afford a cash bond. They're asking for a property bond that could be signed by community supporters.

Prosecutors told the judge the man is a threat and should remain jailed.
