The body of a missing 56-year-old Arizona hiker was found Friday, nearly a week after he was reported missing in the Superstition Mountains.

Kenny Clark, an avid hiker, never signed in on the register at the trailhead entrance, so search crews had no idea where he was headed.

"The gentleman did know the mountains and we talked with his family and they said that he knew what he was doing pretty well..so I believe he had to have just gotten hurt, something like that," said Rick Gwynne.

Gwynne hikes here often and helped out in the search.

"He definitely must have been trying to get to the water sources knowing everybody would check for that area first," said Gwynne.

Search and rescue crews say Clark's car was parked at the First Water trailhead.  His body was found in Garden Valley, a little over a mile away.
