Police say a body found this week has been identified as a 14-year-old Houston-area girl who had been missing since her father was found fatally shot in a rural area north of the city.

Houston police spokeswoman Jodi Silva said Friday evening that a decomposing body found in west Houston on Wednesday has been identified as Adriana Coronado.

The girl had been missing since Saturday.

Investigators believe Adriana might have been with her father, Caesar Vladimir Coronado, when he was killed. His body was found Sunday about 80 miles north of Houston in Walker County.

Silva says a cause of death for Adriana is pending.

The Walker County's Sheriff's Office on Thursday released surveillance video of a person of interest in the case.
