LILLINGTON, N.C. – A preliminary autopsy report shows that a North Carolina woman killed her children and then herself last weekend.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said in a statement to local media that the three shooting deaths in Lillington were the result of a murder suicide.
Harnett County sheriff's deputies found the bodies of 35-year-old Danielle Falls Biggs and her two children — 3-year-old Benjamin and 21-months-old Gwendolyn — inside their home May 6.
Biggs was found downstairs with the family dog, which also had been shot to death. The children were in their beds upstairs.
A news release said Biggs' husband is an active duty military member who was not in the United States at the time.
The investigation is continuing.
