Authorities: Wounded Raleigh officer hit by police bullet
RALEIGH, N.C. – Authorities say a Raleigh police officer wounded during a break-in investigation was hit by a bullet from another officer.
City officials said in a news release that the officer was treated at a hospital following Wednesday's shooting and released.
Authorities say a suspect who was also wounded during the encounter had been armed with a knife. He was in critical but stable condition Wednesday night; authorities didn't update his condition on Thursday.
The news release didn't say what charges he may face.
Officers responded to reports of a break-in at an apartment complex Wednesday afternoon, and a witness heard multiple shots fired.
