Authorities say the second floor of an activity center at a church in Mississippi collapsed during an evening youth service, sending dozens tumbling down and injuring at least 15 people.

Sheriff Alex Hodge in Mississippi's Jonees County told local media outlets that young people were attending a service Wednesday night at Freedom Baptist Church in Myrick when the second floor gave way — a drop of about 12 feet.

Spokeswoman Linda Gavin at the South Central Regional Medical Center, told The Chronicle in Laurel (http://bit.ly/Nd2mcx) that at least 15 young people were treated there and released. She says a 16-year-old girl was taken to a Hattiesburg hospital with a possible head injury.

Details on the girl's condition were not immediately available, but authorities say none of the injures was life-threatening.
