At Least 1 Dead in Plane Crash in Mississippi

BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. -- Federal Aviation Administration says a small plane has crashed in Hancock County, Miss., and one person is dead.

The crash occurred around 6:15 a.m. Monday about 6 to 8 miles west of Stennis International Airport. The FAA says circumstances of the crash were not immediately known.

The FAA says the plane, a four-seat Diamond DA40, was destroyed.

Investigators from local emergency agencies were on the scene.
