A man has been arrested on suspicion of killing a year-old girl who was shot as she slept in a crib in a Compton, California, home.

Police say Ray Howard Patterson, 23, was arrested Monday on suspicion of murder and remains jailed without bail.

Autumn Johnson was shot in the face on Feb. 9. Authorities say the gunman got out of a Chevrolet Impala and fired at least five shots at a converted garage where the child lived with her parents.

Investigators said they believe the gunman was shooting at the baby's 24-year-old father, who is an acknowledged gang member.

Authorities are still looking for the driver of the car.

Officials offered $75,000 in rewards for information leading to the girl's killers.
