Armed Teen Killed in Shootout With Boston Police

An armed teenager who fired shots at Boston police officers who were investigating gang activity was pursued and killed Saturday night, MyFoxBoston.com reported.

Police spokesman Eddie Chrispin said officers stopped a group of people at a street corner known as a hotbed of gun-related violence, when one "younger adult male" fled and opened fire on police.

Police came after the assailant and returned fire, killing the teen, who died at the scene, Chripsin told MyFoxBoston. He described the deceased as 18 or 19 years old.

The incident occurred in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood. No officers were reported injured.
