A northeastern Arizona man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for fatally beating a victim with a baseball bat.

Federal prosecutors say 30-year-old Renfo Lee Woody, of Many Farms, was sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court in Phoenix.

They say Woody pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in August as part of a plea agreement.

Woody admitted that he entered a home on the Navajo Nation on April 5 and beat the victim in the head and body with an aluminum baseball bat.

The victim died the following day from injuries sustained in the beating.

The name of the victim wasn't immediately available Monday and the motive for the beating was unclear.
