Detroit Metropolitan Airport officials evacuated a section of the McNamara Terminal Tuesday morning after a canine picked up the scent of explosives on the apron, where planes load, MyFoxDetroit.com.
Officials say the dog smelled a possible explosive chemical in cargo from China that was bound for Atlanta around 10:30 a.m. Crews cleared a section of the terminal between gates A20 and A38 while they investigated.
After an X-ray, the cargo was determined to be safe and passengers and staff were allowed back in the terminal.
