DETROIT – A man convicted of murder in Albania was Thursday arrested in Detroit after 22 years on the run.
Selin Struga has been living a fugitive's life in Michigan, myFOXdetroit.com reported.
Court documents indicate he stabbed and killed someone in a bar in the summer of 1989. He was convicted of the crime in Albania, even though he was not present for his trial.
"He found out today that he could not escape the law," said FBI spokesman Simon Shaykhet.
Struga was expected to appear at a detention hearing Monday.
