BAY MINETTE, Ala. – Authorities have identified the three men who were involved in a late-night shooting at an Alabama fish camp that severely wounded a teenage girl.
The Baldwin County Sheriff's office identified the men as William "Nick" Hearn, Lonnie Davison and Larry Dean Duncan Jr. Law enforcement officials said the men responded to what they thought was a break-in on Gravine Island and fired two warning shots. One hit 17-year-old Summer Moody in the back of the head.
The men haven't been charged, though prosecutors are still examining the case.
A lawyer for Moody's family said Thursday that the wounded teen had undergone emergency surgery.
Authorities said Moody and three teenage friends boated to the island in the early morning to hunt frogs and alligators. Her companions have been charged with burglary.
