Police have searched a second day for two young Alabama children missing since the summer and whose father has said are dead and buried.

Mobile Police Department spokesman Christopher Levy said officers searched Sunday in an area west of Citronelle in mostly rural northwest Mobile County and found no sign of 5-year-old Natalie DeBlase or 3-year-old Chase DeBlase.

On Saturday, officers searched a wooded area near Vancleave, Miss., about 55 miles west of Mobile.

Levy said police searched the two areas after interviews with the father of the children, John DeBlase. He was arrested Friday and charged with child abuse and corpse abuse. He told police he had buried the bodies of his children.

The children's stepmother has been charged with child abuse and is in jail in Louisville, Ky.
