A grand jury has indicted a Honolulu police officer on allegations that he raped a friend's 14-year-old daughter.

Officer Jessie Laconsay is charged with four counts of first-degree sexual assault and two counts of third-degree sexual assault.

According to a police affidavit for an arrest warrant, the girl's mother found them having sex last week. The documents say the girl told her mother they have had sex before, which Laconsay denied.

The documents say he fled in his police car.

The next day, police put out an all-points bulletin seeking help finding him. A police corporal and an officer found him at a beach with cuts on his wrists.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday. His public defender didn't immediately return a phone message seeking comment.
