NEW YORK -- One person is dead and eight are injured after shooting erupted at a crowded house party in Brooklyn.

Police say the shooting started at the party in the East New York neighborhood early this morning and spilled out into the street.

According to WCBS radio, the party was advertised on Facebook as "Freaky Friday" and had a $5 cover charge.

Police believe the trouble started when two people who had already been in some sort of fight bumped into each other.

Nine people were shot and were taken to hospitals. One of the victims, a 20-year-old man, died.

Five are listed in stable condition at area hospitals and three were treated and released.

Police say several suspects are being questioned. Two guns have been recovered.
