Los Angeles police are investigating a gunfight that broke out at a North Hollywood party and left seven people injured.

Police said Sunday that five people were struck by gunfire and two others were injured trying to get away from the violence. All were expected to survive.

Lt. Bob Toledo tells City News Service that two people were detained in what he called a "running gunbattle."

Police say casings from different types of ammunition indicated multiple guns were used.

Three men and two women suffered gunshot wounds. The victims were all in their 20s.
