A Texas man, his wife and their two children died when the plane they were flying crashed next to a feed store shortly after takeoff Saturday, investigators say.

The Comal County Sheriff’s Office identified those killed as 38-year-old pilot Michael Scott Galloway of Spring Branch, his 32-year-old wife Heather Louise Galloway, their 10-year-old son Clayton T. Galloway and their 8-year-old daughter Cheyenne Elizabeth Galloway

The Federal Aviation Administration reports the single-engine Piper PA-24 aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff from Kestrel Air Park in central Texas about 12:30 p.m. local time.

Sheriff’s Capt. Tommy Ward says the plane crashed into a grassy area next to a feed store parking lot. There were no injuries or damage reported on the ground.

Spring Branch is about 30 miles north of San Antonio.
