A man was found shot to death early Tuesday inside a bullet-riddled car at a Los Angeles intersection, and four suspected gang members were later arrested after a police pursuit on two freeways, authorities said.

The 35-year-old victim was found shot several times just north of downtown in the driver's seat of a Toyota with an Uber sticker, police said.

Investigators said the man was not an Uber driver but they could not immediately explain why the vehicle had the sticker of the ride-sharing service. His name was not released.

A spokesman for Uber said the company was looking into the incident.

The suspects sped off in a small SUV that responding officers chased along surface streets and onto Interstate 10, where the California Highway Patrol joined the pursuit.

The SUV took State Route 60 before running out of gas, the CHP said.

Two men and two women in the SUV were taken into custody, police Capt. Edward Pape said.

Authorities said all four were documented gang members. Police withheld their names and it was unclear what charges they might face.

No motive was disclosed and no weapon was recovered, police said.
