Police say five people, including three children 14 and younger, were wounded in a shooting sparked by a fight between two men.

Brookhaven police Chief Bobby Bell tells The Associated Press he doesn't know what led to the fight. Shots were fired about 12:20 a.m. Friday in Brookhaven, about 60 miles south of Jackson.

Police say the five people are hospitalized.

Bell identified them as 31-year-old Jermaine Sims; his 29-year-old wife, Victoria; and their three children: a 6-year-old boy, a 9-year-old girl and a 14-year-old girl.

Bells says four of them are in critical condition at a Jackson hospital. He said he didn't know the condition of the fifth person, who was at a different hospital.

Bell says 32-year-old Jimmy Lyons is charged with five counts of aggravated assault.
