2nd trial in Conn. home invasion case set for Feb.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The second defendant charged in a deadly Connecticut home invasion has been scheduled to go on trial Feb. 22.
The trial of Joshua Komisarjevsky (koh-mih-sar-JEV'-skee) will start with jury selection, a process that could take months as prospective jurors are questioned by prosecutors and defense attorneys.
Komisarjevsky is accused of following a mother and her daughters to their Cheshire home. Authorities say he and Steven Hayes tormented the family for hours in July 2007 before killing the mother, Jennifer Hawke-Petit, 11-year-old Michaela and 17-year Hayley.
The girls' father, William Petit, was beaten but survived.
A jury convicted Hayes on Oct. 5, and a judge last week sentenced him to death.
