Former neighbor of California shooters due in court today
Enrique Marquez bought the guns used in San Bernardino massacre
A federal judge ordered on Monday that the San Bernardino shooter’s former neighbor, who allegedly bought the guns used in the attack, be held without bail because he is a danger to the community.
U.S. Magistrate Judge David Bristow ruled that Enrique Marquez poses a continuing danger to the community. His family had sought to put up $100,000 in equity on their home for bail.
Marquez is charged with conspiring to provide material support to terrorists for abandoned plots in 2011 and 2012.
He's also charged with illegally buying the rifles that Syed Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik used in the attack, and visa fraud stemming from his marriage to a Russian woman that prosecutors say was a sham.
In regards to the abandoned plots in 2011 involving Marquez, the judge said “Actual acts never came to transpire, fortunately, but grave harm extended to the community on Dec. 2.”
