EASTOVER, S.C. (AP) -- Officials at McEntire Joint National Guard Base say two soldiers have been injured in an incident involving a South Carolina National Guard Helicopter.
A South Carolina National Guard spokesman issued a statement Sunday saying the incident involved an AH-64 Apache helicopter just before 3 p.m. near Eastover.
Maj. Jim St. Clair says emergency crews went immediately to the scene and two injured soldiers have been evacuated to a nearby medical facility.
St. Clair declined to say immediately what had occurred, adding all details were not known. He says more will be released later.
WSPA-TV in Spartanburg reports the number of people on board and the extent of their injuries are unknown at this time.
