Officials say two people have been stabbed at a Wal-Mart in North Texas and a suspect is in custody.

Princeton police Chief James Waters says that the incident happened Wednesday afternoon. He says the two people stabbed were taken by helicopter to a hospital and are both in stable condition.

He says the suspect is believed to be a Wal-Mart employee. He says the man fled but was apprehended nearby. He says the suspect was being treated for what are believed to be self-inflicted injuries to his hands.

Princeton is about 45 miles northeast of Dallas.
