Two Nevada men have been arrested after one who has complained about pesticides in Reno's drinking water spilled a green liquid at the Washoe County Commission chambers and set off a panic.

Deputies tackled 28-year-old Ross Tisevich, of Fallon, Monday when he spilled the unknown substance from a weed killer bottle on the public speaking lectern.

The mayors of Reno and Sparks were among a group of people quarantined for about two hours before officials determined it was a water-and-sugar substance that posed no danger.

Tisevich was jailed on charges including dispersing a hoax hazardous material and disrupting a public meeting.

Joseph Benedict, of Reno, also spoke at the meeting and was arrested on the same charges.

It wasn't immediately clear if they had lawyers who could be reached for comment.
