Two people were killed and others injured Sunday as two boats collided near Shelter Island in San Diego, San Diego 6 News reported.
One of the boats sank after the collision and police divers entered the water looking for more victims.
The incident happened about 5:30pm local time.
At least two of the victims received CPR from medics at the scene, NBC San Diego reported.
San Diego Fire-Rescue confirmed that two people were taken to UCSD Medical Center and three were taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital in an unknown condition, according to KGTV San Diego.
Shelter Island is a neighborhood of Point Loma which is not actually an island but is connected to the mainland by a narrow strip of land.
