Police say an attempted robbery at a Philadelphia jewelry store has left a store employee and a would-be robber dead.

It happened shortly before 11 a.m. Thursday at Glatz Jewelers in northeast Philadelphia.

Police spokeswoman Jillian Russell says a 67-year-old man who worked at the store was shot in the chest and died at a hospital.

Russell says a man attempting to rob the store was shot in the head and died at the scene. It's unclear whether he was shot by the victim or another worker in the store.

Police are looking for a second suspect. Investigators say nothing was taken from the store.
