A 13-year-old student from the Oklahoma School for the Blind in Muskogee was forgotten in a van for two hours during a field trip to Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Jody Harlan with the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services says the boy also suffers other disabilities that made it impossible for him to exit the vehicle without assistance. He was left inside the van June 8 from 10 a.m. until noon — when the temperature outside was in the mid-80s — while 35 of his classmates visited an art workshop.

Harlan told KTUL-TV (http://bit.ly/1twp8C3 ) that the boy was treated at a hospital and returned to school the next day.

Harlan says there were six adults on the trip. She says no disciplinary action has been taken, but the Department of Human Services is investigating.
