One person was dead and eight others were rescued when their boat capsized in a Maryland lake Saturday.
Fox 45 reports the boat capsized in Lake Linganore in Frederick when it swept over a dam. Police say they received phone calls from local residents about cries for help coming from the lake at around 6:30 p.m.
Maryland Natural Resources police found and identified the body of the deceased as a 62-year-old male.
A rescue team was able to extract one person in a water rescue. Four others were on the ledge of the dam when boat personnel rescued them and the last three were hoisted from the dam by a helicopter, the station reported.
All individuals were transported to Frederick Memorial Hospital.
