And now the most telling two minutes in television, the latest from the political grapevine:

Writing on the Wall?

Ten Republican senators are now calling on 9/11 commissioner and former Deputy Attorney General Jamie Gorelick to testify before the commission. In a letter to chairman Thomas Kean, the group writes that Gorelick's role in shaping the so-called wall separating intelligence from criminal investigations in the FBI makes it - "imperative" that the committee be allowed to question her.

Meanwhile, the Washington Times reports that despite Gorelick's direct involvement in its creation, she is still free to contribute to the commission's final report on the intelligence wall.

Sound Familiar?

In 1998, President Clinton called Iraq - "a rogue state with weapons of mass destruction, ready to use them or provide them to terrorists," a claim similar to those made by President Bush before going to war with Iraq.

Senator Hillary Clinton now says that "the consensus was the same, from the Clinton administration to the Bush administration. It was the same intelligence belief that our allies and friends around the world shared." Senator Clinton told CNN's Larry King that the difference is, - "in the case of the [Bush] administration, they really believed it."

Our Democracy is a Farce?

In a 1971 speech to an audience at West Virginia's Bethany College, Senator John Kerry's claimed that - "our democracy is a farce; it is not the best in the world," according to the Cybercast News Service.

Kerry, whose remarks were recorded in Bethany's student newspaper "The Tower," was a leader of Vietnam Veterans Against the War at the time. Senator Kerry went on to say about the war against communist North Vietnam, - "Communism was not a threat to our country and the war was not moral."
