There are two major groups preventing the federal government from getting a handle on illegal aliens who commit crimes here in the USA and terrorists who have illegally entered the country.

The first group are politicians, like Virginia Governor Kaine and Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, among legions of others, who want liberal votes and therefore resist efforts to inform the Feds about dangerous illegals in their states.

The second group are far-left organizations like the ACLU and the AFL-CIO, who have sued the federal government for trying to enforce immigration law. Follow me closely now, because you're not going to believe this.

Homeland Security is all set to mail out 140,000 letters to American employers warning them that they may be charged with crimes if they continue employing people who have fake Social Security numbers. It sounds reasonable, right? Giving fair warning.

Not to the ACLU, which wants open borders and no enforcement against people who enter this country illegally. So the ACLU sued the federal government, asking a federal San Francisco judge to stop Homeland Security from sending out the letters.

The Judge Maxine Chesney did just that. So Homeland Security has all those letters and cannot send them. Is this absurd or what? Judge Chesney was appointed by President Clinton as a hardcore left-wing jurist.

In 1992, for example, she declared unconstitutional a California law that required unmarried minors to get court or parental approval before having an abortion. So according to Judge Chesney, an 11 or 12-year-old girl can make a decision about major surgery on her own. And her parents, with whom she lives, have no right to know about it. Talk about unconstitutional. Another dangerous, absurd ruling from a dangerous, absurd judge.

But the ACLU knew that Chesney and the Ninth Circuit in San Francisco would do their bidding and prevent the Feds from controlling illegal immigration. This is America today.

Now while Judge Chesney was imposing her radical left viewpoint on the entire nation, police say illegal criminal Salvador Luna was molesting, raping a three-year-old girl in San Bernadino County, California within driving distance of Judge Chesney.

Luna was deported to Mexico seven years ago after molesting another child. But obviously, he came back. Not only that, but in 2006, Luna was convicted of DUI in San Bernardino. But Judge Stephen Ashworth got him probation. And California authorities did not notify ICE even though the guy had a child molestation beef and had been deported.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is why Congress must pass a law, mandating that all police agencies inform the Feds upon the arrest of any alien. The ACLU, Judges Chesney and Ashworth, the cowardly politicians are all putting you and your family in danger. This must stop. Congress must take action now. And that's “the Memo.”

Most Ridiculous Item

Time now for "The Most Ridiculous Item of the Day." In the "Everything That Tastes Good is Bad for You" category, watch out for microwave buttered popcorn.

Apparently, a 53-year-old Colorado man had a severe lung condition, and his doctor says it's because he ate too much popcorn because a chemical called diacetyl, which provides the buttery flavor, is not good for the lungs.

So another snack bites the dust. We are down to unsweetened JELL-O and hummus, which is certainly ridiculous. Everything that tastes good is bad.
