And now the most intriguing two minutes in television, the latest from the wartime grapevine:

Authorities Blame Al-Qaeda

Many Saudi authorities have linked the terrorist attack at an oil refinery in Saudi Arabia over the weekend -- which killed two Americans and four other foreigners -- to Al Qaeda, but Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah says -- "It is ... 95 percent [certain] that the Zionist hands are behind what happened," insisting Zionists -- "seduced" the terrorists.

Speaking on Saudi television, the Crown Prince called the terrorists "Satan's helpers," adding -- "they are the hangers-on of Satan and of imperialism." He gave no evidence to support his claims.

Photo Flak

Photos of British soldiers allegedly abusing an Iraqi prisoner are now making their way around the world. But, according to the BBC, sources close to the soldiers' regiment suspect the photos -- first published in London's tabloid Daily Mirror -- may be fakes, possibly not even taken in Iraq.

The sources, quoted by the BBC, say the rifle in the photo is an S-A-80 M-K 1, a model not issued to troops in Iraq. They say soldiers in Iraq wore berets or hard hats, not the floppy hats in the photos. And, they say, the truck bed in the background is from a model never deployed in Iraq.

The Daily Mirror, however, insists the photos are real, saying -- "this outrageous and unlawful behavior ... has been common knowledge ... for many months."

Late Soldier Not a Hero?

Cartoonist and leftist author Ted Rall -- whose work has appeared in more than 140 publications, including the LA Times and New York Times -- is suggesting that the late Pat Tillman -- who after 9/11 gave up a career in the NFL to join the military -- was not a hero.

In a new cartoon, carried on MSNBC's Website, Rall portrays Tillman's first question to an enlistment officer as -- "Will I get to kill Arabs?," and then says Tillman -- "falsely believed Bush's wars against Iraq and Afghanistan had something to do with 9/11."

Rall also calls Tillman -- "a cog in a low-rent occupation army ... to prop up puppet rulers and exploit gas and oil resources," suggesting that Tillman was truly a -- "idiot" and a "sap."

Poll Results

A new poll shows that 45 percent of Americans think President Bush is caring and compassionate, compared with only 37 percent who say that about John Kerry. Similarly, more Americans find President Bush friendly and likable, and believe he shares their values and beliefs.

In addition, Kerry is described by more Americans as having a boring personality. But while some critics describe Kerry as cold and distant, the poll shows slightly more Americans say that about the president.
