Report: Neighbor of San Bernardino shooters didn't report suspicious activity for fear of profiling

Michelle Fields: The Department of Homeland Security has this whole campaign, if you see something suspicious, say something. But people don’t want to report when something is suspicious because they’re scared that if they’re wrong, the P.C. police are going to attack them and turn them into a villain overnight. Look at what happened in Texas. A teacher saw a student bring in something that looked like a bomb, it did not look like a clock. They became an overnight sensation. Everyone was calling them racist. Now the Clock Kid is suing them for $15 million. It seems as though there is not an incentive to report anything because you’re just going to become a villain if you’re wrong.

Jonathan Hoenig: Profiling is short hand for thinking. He wore religious clothing, he was devoutly Muslim. If the enemy is militant Islam, how can that not be a clear warning sign? People are even afraid of saying the word Islam or Muslim because they’re afraid of being labeled an Islamophobe. That’s exactly why the president can’t even say it. He calls them “radical extremists.” Even he can’t the words out of his mouth.

Jessica Tarlov: I’m pretty sure that he can say it, but he’s making it a policy, as did the Bush administration to not use language that is going to tarnish the entire moderate population of Muslims in this country, which is the vast majority. I’m not saying this wasn’t Islamic terrorism, it was. I can say it. I understand that. But we know why the president has this policy. Also, everyone is concerned about the P.C. police. We have anonymous tip lines for a reason. Use them. Do not be afraid, if you see something, say something. This isn’t just about terrorists.

Jonathan Hoenig: I’m an advocate for open immigration, but we’re in a state of war. The enemy has been enflamed from their success and our weakness. It’s perfectly appropriate to restrict immigration from countries with Jihadi experiences and movements.

Michelle Fields: I absolutely agree with Paul’s bill. I think we need to suspend the program for countries that have significant Jihadi movements. It’s not just the visa waver program, we also need to target the refugee program. This administration keeps saying don’t worry about the refugee program, it’s fine, they’re going to be fully vetted. But look, the woman in the San Bernardino terrorist attack, she was vetted when she came here. The Boston bombers, they were vetted. Look what happened there, I’m a little concerned about both programs.

Jessica Tarlov: We do want everyone to be vetted properly. The Senate Democrats have a much more reasonable plan with a bill that targets Iraq and Syria specifically instead of 34 countries. I think again, we’re getting to a point where we’re going to be closing our borders, and to Michelle’s point about the refugee program, there was an open letter this week from our top foreign policy professionals. Madeleine Albright, Henry Kissinger, David Petraeus who all said, do not block this refugee program. It is not a risk, we support it. These are people who know what they’re talking about.

Michelle Fields: This is the real face of cops in America. This is what it’s all about. They are selfless, they’re there to protect us. Often times this is getting lost because of the Black Lives Matter groups which are constantly spewing this anti-cop rhetoric when really this is the face of police officers in America.

Jonathan Hoenig: The culture today, it’s the Black Lives Matter, it’s the Occupy Wall Street, it’s all these Commie groups that want to paint the police as racist thugs. America is this corrupt country that was born of oppression. To Michelle’s point, the police are professionals. The overwhelming majority are valiant, honorable and brave.

Jessica Tarlov: Yes this is the face of police in America. This is why they’re the third most respected institution in the country according to Gallup, over and over after the military and small business. Yes there us an anti-cop movement, but we also can’t forget what happened in Chicago last year, we can’t forget what happened to Eric Garner, we can’t forget what happened to Freddie Gray, we can’t forget the unsolicited stops that happen every day.
