Grapevine: Natural disasters providing political fodder

Liberal commentators use fires, floods to attack conservatives

And now some fresh pickings from the Political Grapevine...
Act of God?

For two liberal commentators-- the floods in Florida and horrific fires in Colorado have provided political fodder.

Newsbusters Reports radio host Mike Malloy said --quote--

"Could that be Jesus or God saying hey, you know, we're sick of you right-wingers. We're sick of you religious nuts. We're gonna flood you, we're gonna burn you?"

On the Daily Kos-- there's this--
"As the flames approach the VERY conservative city of Colorado Springs-- we are reminded that this is one of the proud beachheads of the Tea Party movement...perhaps as disaster is about to strike their city, these folks may wish there was a little more government around."

O-Whatta-Care

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal is a fast talker.

So fast-- that he made an unfortunate slip in a conference call today about the Affordable Care Act--

ObomneyCare was a phrase coined by then candidate Tim Pawlenty during the Republican primary-- to link Governor Romney to President Obama.

Governor Jindal did say the phrase-- ObamaCare-- correctly many times on the call.

On the Trail

And finally-- President Obama continues his attack on Governor Romney not wanting to raise taxes on the rich.

At a campaign event held by celebrity Marc Anthony-- the president re-iterated that top earners-- such as himself and his host-- could afford to pay "more."

But if Anthony wants to pay more in taxes-- he has a strange way of showing it.

The singer had federal and state tax liens filed against him in 2010 for his Long Island estate-- to the tune of $3.4 million dollars.

Anthony also had to pay $2.5 million in back taxes in 2007.
