Big Ticket
Parking tickets are a major source of revenue for cities but one place that could really use the cash is actually losing money with each ticket it issues.
The Detroit News reports it costs the city $32 to write and process a $30 parking violation and it hasn't adjusted rates since 2001.
To make matters worse, half the city's parking meters don't even work.
Last year, Detroit became the largest city ever to file for bankruptcy.
The city is now considering raising the fines for those parking tickets.
Detour from Memory Lane
Vice President Joe Biden seems to have gotten a little confused yesterday during a speech in Poland.
He took credit for Poland's entrance into NATO -- quote -- "Fifteen years ago, I was honored, as the chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, to lead the fight for Poland's admission into NATO."
But that's not accurate. While then-Senator Biden did support the expansion of NATO, Poland joined in 1999.
Biden did not serve as the Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman until 2001. In fact, North Carolina Republican Jesse Helms was chair in 1999.

And finally, a Saint Patrick's Day greeting from a senator that had a lot of people scratching their heads.
Texas Republican John Cornyn tweeted this picture Monday.

But as many quickly noticed Boddington's is a British beer as that Union Jack on the packaging would denote.
Twitter users assumed the worst -- letting him have it.
Quote -- "Is this a calculated insult, or just a horrible gaffe? Leaning to insult."
Quote -- "Um, a British beer? You know that there is a history of tension there between Brits and Irish, right?"
Quote -- "Are you kidding me?! English ale? Are you wearing orange too?"
We contacted Senator Cornyn's office for an explanation, we are told he -– quote -- "got to the store late and they were out of Guinness."
